In the middle of page 11 you say: “the only thing we have to destroy is our attachment to it”. It would seem that we are referring to attachment to the personal self. I wondered if the attachment we need to destroy is the attachment to separateness. Is it not the separateness of the self that hinders the return to its source?

R.A.: Yes, it is so, correct it in this way: “to its separateness, and to its attachment to other things”. Not giving up the true “I”. It is abandoning the personal self that is usually trapped and separative.

D.: So, when people talk about “transcending the ego”, they must actually transcend the separativity of the “I”.

R.A.: Yes, without losing the center point. The point of pure self-awareness. This is valuable and must be kept. It must only be freed from what it is attached to, and then it naturally rises, and it is precious even before rising. It is awareness. This is a point that needs to be clarified very well, because there is such confusion about it.

R.A.: First of all, accept it mentally, be convinced of it. And then all the methods of detachment: disidentification, …
