Creative Meditation is a comprehensive and in-depth introduction to the art of meditation. The book is structured as a four-year meditation course, but it can also be used as a reference book with instructions and guidance for the meditation process. Here you will find all the good advice and conceivable angles worth knowing about creative meditation.
Creative Meditation is based on the dynamic power of thought and draws its inspiration from the Eastern raja yoga philosophy, although the language is kept in a Western and psychological tone. ´We become as we think´ is one of the main theses behind the book and the concentrated and focused use of the mind on soul qualities such as compassion, joy, wisdom, honesty etc., will evoke these qualities in the personality when the meditation is persistent. That is why it is called creative meditation, because through the focus of the mind on the spiritual qualities of the soul one can create a completely new and refined character.
The first year’s meditation instruction is an introduction to the basic principles behind creative meditation, and here the foundation is laid, and the reader is guided into meditation on the qualities of the soul. The section has been prepared by Erik Ansvang, who has many years of experience with meditation and is, among other things, a trained yoga teacher.
The three subsequent years of meditation instruction are prepared by Dr. Roberto Assagioli, the founder of Psychosynthesis, and a group of students. Here, meditation is brought into a larger global scale, where one becomes part of a global meditation group that meditates on the laws and principles of the new age. Meditation here becomes both an individual effort to develop spiritual qualities in the personality, and a desire to evoke, for example, good will and right human relations in the world. All in accordance with the creative power of thought.
