What types of energies do you most clearly associate with yourself? The answer to that question tells who you are. My inner being is like a radiant sun, how does yours experience it?
By Kenneth Sorensen

Meditation for me is connecting with my purpose on a daily basis. It is contacting the energies within me that support everything I do and am.
Every morning I connect with a great inner light, often an inner sun, that gives me energy, insights, and the energy to bring my creativity out into the world. That source of abundance ensures that I never run out of energy, and it reminds me that I am part of something bigger.
It is no coincidence that the sun has become my most used meditation focus because my essence type is precisely the sensitive archetype The Illuminator. The essence type is the innermost energy type that motivates our being and in my case it is wisdom, love, insight and the ability to enlighten through psychology and spirituality.
I feel naturally at home in an inner energy that expands and opens my consciousness, and that gives me aha experiences. It is also the energy that most often colors my interactions with people around me, because it opens us up and makes us curious about what is hidden beneath the surface of the other.
I clearly recognize the energy, because I have meditated on it so often that it has become a clear open sensation in the chest area and a calm present observation that sensitively senses what is happening in the inner space.
In other words, I can consciously tune into the energy when I want it to be more clear, because the sensitive energy is of course not the only thing I contain. I can surf the energy, bathe in it, open myself into it and let myself be touched and healed by the energy. It is like a gentle warm wind that makes me relax, lower my guard and listen to the deeper layers of my own or others’ minds.
Meditating is training our ability to tune into different channels of consciousness, where each channel opens up to new experiences. This is of course seen from an energy psychology perspective, where everything is observed and felt as energy. An inner reality where we experience that we basically have access to everything we need to get more of. Love, greatness, intelligence, beauty, sharpness, impact, courage, you name it, you got it 🙂
Meditation puts us in touch with our surplus being when we know how to meditate. This does not mean that you do not experience pain, heaviness, inhibiting energies, but meditation gives you the ability to lift and change these energies when you face them with a positive mindset.

Why meditate?

This is probably the most important question to clarify not only when you start meditating, but as an ongoing practice along the way. The answer to your why tells you what your motivation is. Your motivation is a source of energy that keeps you going with one of your probably most important habits in life. The answer to your why sets a course for the focus of your consciousness. It sets energies in motion in your personality that will change you with as much certainty as you can trust gravity.
The most intelligent purpose you can have is to become you. Meditation is supposed to strengthen your ability to recognize who you are and act on it. That is why many people often start with a mindfulness meditation, where we learn to observe everything that arises in our minds. This type of meditation brings us to the fact that we are not our body, our emotions or our mind, or for that matter all the roles we take on in life. We are the observer, the awareness, the presence, the awake something that looks out through the eyes.
However, mindfulness meditation should also be combined with a creative visualization meditation that enables you to bring forth the qualities in your being that you fundamentally experience you are. I experience that my deepest being is like a sun, which is why I often meditate on a sun. It is of course a symbolic image that points to an inner reality. However, symbols are like doors that lead into the inner space of consciousness to the real energetic dimension. But other types of people may experience that their deepest being is more connected to a diamond, a mountain, a color, a vibration of beauty, a quality of order.
There is the discovery of the energies we most naturally belong to, which sets us on the path to the greatest creative project of our lives – To become all we have the potential to become.
The language of energy psychology and meditation

When we move into the world of energies, it often becomes incredibly subtle and difficult to put into words what we experience. Poetry and music are often better at conveying these realizations, but it is actually possible to describe energies when we have an energy psychological language that we can use. Of course, it is not only when we meditate that the energies are present, meditation is just a way to sharpen one’s observation skills. Therefore:
When we learn about the dynamic energies , we know how the will is experienced, as a force that insists on unfolding freely. We experience a desire for freedom, a will-to-be-oneself, and a determination to assert itself in the world.
When we experience the sensitive energies , we feel an openness, a loving warmth, an embracing empathetic understanding and a deep need to be connected. A wisdom-filled realization of the interconnectedness of life.
When we experience the mental energies , we become quickly perceptive, reflective, curious, and investigative in an overview-oriented way. We get ideas that create coherent understandings that make us active and productive.
When we experience the creative energies , we become beauty-seeking, imaginative, spontaneous, playful, with a deep need to experience new aspects of life, through human interaction and experimental lifestyles.
When the analytical energies are activated, we focus on facts, we examine our experiences with razor-sharp analyses that cut to the bone. We become practically
oriented, objective and sensible. We become preoccupied with finding the truth.
When the dedicated energies surge through us, we are devoted, passionate, and purposeful. We become focused on ideals, the best, the greatest, and the most important. We gain access to a fiery glow and an enthusiastic emotional experience.
When the practical energies flow through us, we become highly action-oriented. We have a need to create results through an organized, disciplined and focused effort of will, planning the most effective way to streamline our purpose.
Each of the above energies are like rivers of life within us, they are universal, omnipresent and in our minds we have the antennas with which we can tune in to them. When we combine the language of energy psychology with meditation, it quickly becomes clear that there are some of the energies we feel more naturally at home with.
In other words, we are harmoniously attuned to some of the energies, while others are much harder to get hold of. This is where our types play a crucial role, they are like a psychological DNA that conditions us in a certain direction in advance. However, it is never impossible to develop a relationship with all the energies, some just require more discipline and focus than others.
Why is it so easy for me to get excited, passionate, and goal-oriented? Why do I often have to be careful not to rush, run with my head under my arm, or become too intense? The answer is quite simple, it is the dominant influence of my personality. The dedicated energy type, with its positive and difficult sides.
As you can hopefully hear, it is not unimportant to know your essence type and personality type. You will get a qualified quote by taking JivaYou’s identity profile , which describes both of your types and compares them.
You can also start by taking our personality test . You will then be invited to a webinar where you will receive feedback on your personality type and be sent a meditation that develops your type.
If you would like to study the above perspectives in depth, I would of course recommend my meditation book for advanced practitioners: Integral Meditation.

Meget spændende og for mig total rammende. Energipsykologi – hvilken inspiration el retning ligger der bagved?
Den baserer sig meget på den italienske læge og psykiater, Roberto Assagioli’s Psykosyntese og de syv psykologiske typer 🙂
