PART I
Doc. #3325 – Assagioli Archive – Florence. Original Title: Proponimento. Translated by Jan Kuniholm
Help me, Lord of Love and Life, to transmute my emotional and mental habits.
I sincerely and firmly resolve to banish from my mind and heart every negative and destructive thought.
I sincerely and firmly resolve to banish from my mind and heart every old and new resentment.
I sincerely and firmly resolve to substitute for it positive and constructive thoughts and feelings, thinking often and affirming the omnipresent Love of God.
I refuse to accept evil as Reality; it belongs to the unreal, the transitory, the fleeting, the illusion. The evolution on which God’s Plan is based tends toward Good.
God wills to Good and is the only power I accept and recognize in my life.
I put my every thought, my every feeling, under the guidance of the radiant light of the Christ in me.
Practically, I must guard myself and maintain a constant dominion over my mind and heart, not allowing any less-than-desirable thought or feeling to enter it.
But if, by force of habit, by the inevitable contacts with the environment, by my present limitation and imperfection, this should happen, I would ask forgiveness from my highest Self, from the God in me, of the lack of surveillance, and immediately replace the erroneous thought with a good one.
This is an ongoing work that constitutes a true test, requiring constant and persistent surveillance, mastery, and unity of purpose.
We often repeat: I deny every thought, every tendency to fear, resentment, criticism, injustice, suspicion, anxiety, worry, distrust . . .
In my heart there is no tendency to rudeness, unkindness, harshness, resentment; it is not indifferent, it is not closed . . .
Some questioning can also be done, possibly in the evening, or when there is a moment of calm and silence during the day:
Have I promptly dismissed every less than desirable, harmful or negative thought? Have I faithfully substituted for it a thought and feeling suggested by the best part of me, by the inner Christ?
Do I have within me the desire, alive, constant, sincere, to be guided by the critical mind that is my true Self, to invest it with the command?
What can be done in practice: Loving, blessing, praising, thanking; cultivating gratitude, trust, tranquility, serenity, calmness, lovingkindness, kindness, readiness to serve, vigilance — constant readiness to sympathize, to help, to cooperate, to welcome the Light, to intensify it, to radiate it, to recognize it, to evoke it in others.

PART II
(From psicoenergetica.com – Assagioli Archives-Florence. Original Title: Proponimento. Translated by Jan Kuniholm)
Help us, O Lord of Love and Life, to transmute our mental and emotional habits.
We sincerely and firmly resolve to banish from our minds and hearts all negative or destructive thoughts and feelings.
We sincerely and firmly resolve to banish from our minds and hearts all resentment (old and new).
We sincerely and firmly resolve to substitute positive and constructive thoughts and feelings, thinking often and affirming the Omnipresent Love of God.
We refuse to accept evil as reality; it belongs to the unreal, the impermanent, the transient, the illusion.
Evolution, on which the Divine Plan is based, tends toward Good.
- GOD WILLS TO GOOD
- God is the ONLY POWER that we accept and acknowledge in our lives.
- We place our every thought, our every feeling under the Radiant Light of the Christ within us.
We are not our physical bodies,
We are not our emotions,
We are not our minds.
WE ARE points of fire — eternal, immortal, perfect.
More radiant than the sun,
More pure than snow,
More subtle than the ether,
is the SELF, the Spirit within us.
WE ARE THAT SELF.
THAT SELF IS US.
